We know that this woman lied about how her husband died, admitted — at one time — that she pushed him in and left him alone in the cold water in the dark knowing he had epilepsy. You’ve seen her character ON TAPE. Do you think we just happen to come across the worst moments of her life or do you think these are snapshots of a life misspent that may be far worse than what any of us know. Could she have killed her husband? The investigation continues. Would she have been arrested if she wasn’t a deputy? If she didn’t have special relationships with higher-ups in the dept. would she still have a job? Should she have the power to arrest? Should she be allowed to carry a gun in the community we live in? You be the judge! And oh should she be working and Paula Dance on suspension? As best I can tell she is the only one with her honor intact and you can’t buy and sell that and if we don’t protect that and fight for it then Michelle Pollard is what we deserve.

ELECT PAULA DANCE PITT COUNTY SHERIFF 2010. Law enforcement officers don’t let law enforcement officers cover-up wrongfull death. Deputies are sworn to up-hold the Constitution, not a tall sheriff. Send a message to the citizens of this county and the next sheriff that you know the line has been crossed. Seek employment elsewhere until a new sheriff is seated. This should happen sooner than later.

What does this have to do with the case. Just because questionable behaviors are out there doesn’t mean she did anything. If it wasn’t for all the stress over all this from past to present including the loss of her husband these behaviors would not exist. You have stressed my sister out to the max. Who do you think is dreaming here, Michelle or Mac or some poor drunken fool that happened to be there when this happened. Will the DA and Mr. Coulson support a theory that these pictures are a “PIGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION” or will they take thier conveniently placed blinders off and see what has really been happening outside of their bubble.
I am in agreement with the posters here and the general consensus of Pitt County residents, something needs to be done about this type of behavoir being permitted by only a select “few” in the PCSD. Don’t forget there are great people in the sheriff’s dept that work hard for the citizens of this county, that are SICK this has been tolerated because of “special priviledges” allowed for the few at the top of PCSD.
As for sc’s comments of her sister’s behavior, Michelle was sporting “BUTT FLOSS” bikini’s long before her husband’s death. There are at least 100 plus witness’ to that. Behavior patterns of this kind were there long before Stacey’s death. So much for that theory.

I thought this was the code for ALL Law Enforcement Officers (including deputies). If any other officer was caught doing something like this they would be forced to resign. It’s unbelievable that nothing has been done about her yet. Regardless of the crime that’s being investigated, she is an unmoral and unethical person. Her character is not only questionable, it is appalling. She should be fired for the MORAL CLAUSE that NC’s Training and Standards has. The crime will be solved but in the meantime she shouldn’t be allowed to “serve and protect” our citizens here in Pitt County or anywhere.

To SC Are you the same sister that MP called a lazy b- - - -. that was when Stacey was living. I am not trying to cause problems but these behaviors didn’t just start. I have been at the river with her and other people and she has always been like this. That camper they had if walls could talk we might find answers. If my sister was going through this I would defend her too but you know as well as I do that she has ALWAYS been like this. Not saying she murdered Stacey but unhealthy behavior to be a MOM. From what I understand you spend sometime at the wonderful Sunset Lounge. Nothing wrong with going out and having a good moral time, but this is a little much. I would think that if things are that diffcult for her she would seek professional help. I will be praying for your family along with the other Pollard family.

From what I understand she is there with 6 other deputies…train…..I am so glad that it is not my husband on that trip after all of this junk going on. I would be worried: that I would be without a husband or better yet some disease being brought home and not as a sourvuior. My main question with all this is does she have any concerns or ability to recognize how her behaviors or actions impact her son? Moreover, if she is able to behave and act this way and obviously doesn’t have the ability to comprehend the tramatic effects that her behavior has upon him, she will obviously not be able to have any kind of regard for anyone beyond this relationship, making it possible for her to do just about anything and not really have a conscience about such actions and/or behaviors.

Autopsy in sheriff suit gets review

A Pitt County medical examiner is reconsidering the cause of death in a Grimesland man’s 2005 drowning.
Dr. M.G.F. Gilliland, a state medical examiner at the Brody School of Medicine, is reviewing the autopsy report of Stacey Dean Pollard, whose death in November 2005 is the subject of a lawsuit against members of the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. In an affidavit that will be filed with the Eastern District Federal Court this week, Gilliland cites new information and a new investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation.
“The case is under review at this time because additional information that was not available when the original autopsy was performed was provided to this office in 2007,” Gilliland said in the affidavit.
Gilliland’s sworn statement is part of a motion attorney David Sutton plans to file this week in connection with an ongoing wrongful death suit connected to Pollard’s death. Sutton, who represents Barbara Pollard in the case, faxed a copy of the notarized affidavit to The Daily Reflector around 5 p.m. on Friday.
In the statement, Gilliland said she would finish her review after seeing the results of an ongoing SBI investigation related to the Pollard case.
Gilliland could not be reached for further comment Friday or Saturday.
A call to an SBI spokeswoman was not returned Friday afternoon. SBI officials have previously declined to discuss the nature of their probe.
The SBI agent looking into Pollard’s death wrapped up his investigation in December 2006. Pitt County District Attorney Clark Everett said in July he asked the agent to conduct several follow-up interviews, saying there were “some issues discussed that we wanted resolved.”
Stacey Pollard’s original death certificate, filed Nov. 19, 2005, by Dr. Joseph Pestaner, cites drowning as the cause of death. Pollard was pronounced dead on Nov. 18, 2005, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, shortly after his wife, Michelle Pollard, found him unconscious in a swimming pool behind the couple’s Grimesland home.
On July 5 of this year, Barbara Pollard filed suit against Michelle Pollard, a lieutenant with the sheriff’s office; Sheriff Mac Manning; and chief deputies Lee Moore and Rick Fisher. The suit alleges wrongful death and claims Manning, Fisher and Moore stifled an investigation into Michelle Pollard’s role in the death.
The suit further claims that Michelle Pollard told contradictory stories to local and state investigators.
In a July 10 news conference, Manning denied the charges.
Manning declined to comment on Gilliland’s review of the cause of death.
“I don’t even know anything about it,” he said. “I haven’t been advised about it. I can’t comment on anything.”
Attorneys representing Manning, Michelle Pollard, Fisher and Moore requested that the case be dismissed earlier this month.
Sutton said he intends to ask Federal Judge Earl Briggs this week to delay the case until after the SBI finishes its investigation
