Daily Reflector Autopsy Article Sept. 2, 2007

FYI….. The Daily Reflector contacted the attorney for the family Friday afternoon around 4pm and stated he was doing an article this weekend on the case. The affidavit by Dr. Gilliland had been requested before any contact with the reporter because the response to Lt. Pollard’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit was due soon. The reporter asked for a comment on the allegations in Lt. Pollard’s Motion to Dismiss that the family had not be prejudiced by the way the case had been handled by law enforcement. While the reporter was on the phone with the family’s attorney, Dr. Gilliland’s affidavit was delivered and the reporter asked for a copy. Since the response to the motion (with the affidavit attached) is required to be published online with the Federal Court (and anyone who wants to see any filing in Federal Court can go to the court’s website to view them) the affidavit was provided to the reporter. For those who may not have read the article or the affidavit, it simply says that the medical examiners office is reviewing the cause of Stacey’s death because of information they received after the suit was filed and that a final determination of the cause of Stacey’s death will not be made until the evidence at the SBI lab has been analyzed and the medical examiner gets to review it. And that is exactly what should have happen. The reason the affidavit is important is that it shows that Stacey’s death is FINALLY being investigated. In fact most of the evidence being reviewed by the SBI lab was collected the night Stacey died BUT WAS NEVER SUBMITTED FOR ANALYSIS. Our “prejudice” is that we don’t even know what the final determination of cause of death will be and the statute of limitations for filing a wrongful death case will run out in about 75 days. If the family had waited for the authorities to do something, the statute would have run out (meaning no case against Michelle could have ever been filed)and no real investigation would have ever been done. Wonder if that was their plan? In any event, it appears that the filing of the suit and the many responses to this website have succeeded - to an extent at least - in getting the case looked at by those in official capacities………..btw………is Inv. Dance still suspended?????????????

    Mac Manning Must Go

If anyone who knows Paula Dance will help me get her permission, I will have “Sheriff Manning Must Go/Appoint Paula Dance Sheriff for Pitt County” bumper stickers printed.

Any new information discovered by the State Medical Examiner does not change the fact that Sheriff Manning should have called in the SBI the night of Stacey’s death.

  2. Murphy Says:

GREAT NEWS FOR THE POLLARD FAMILY!

Of course we need to keep our guard up because this could be for looks :(

I’m excited at the prospects and look forward to more updates. They can attempt to sweep this up and hide it under the rug but the one thing they can’t do is keep people quiet.

Good luck to Stacey’s friends and family and GREAT MOVE in creating this site.

I’m sure Michelle will not be excited about the new developments. Maybe it’ll be the news that causes her to lose sleep and not having too many people in her bed.

  3. Charles Beddard Says:

    State Prosecutor Should Be Requested

It’s time for Pitt District Attorney Clark Everett to request the North Carolina Attorney General appoint a prosecutor from his office to evaluate new information discovered by the SBI before the statute of limitation expires.

  4. former pitt county resident Says:

I am so thrilled to see that the SBI is re-investigating the case and that the autopsy is being further looked into.
I did some reading about drowning and being epilectic and this is what I found>>>>

Epilectic will sink during a drowning,,,,,, they cannot float….

It is accepted that people with epilepsy should be supervised when swimming. However, there is little or no guidance about special precautions that should be taken for particular types of seizures. During a tonic seizure the muscles of the chest wall contract and much of the air from the lungs may be expelled. If such a seizure occurs while a person is swimming, the average body density may become higher than the density of the water, causing rapid submersion. When the muscles of the chest wall relax, the person will still be submerged, with the result that water, not air, will enter the respiratory tract and the person will not rise to the surface.

Remember, Michelle said Stacey was floating face down when she found him….
If he was really seizing during this drowning his body would of submerged to the bottom of the pool….
SBI, please further investigate this,,,,,, it is an important part of evidence…

I am praying for the family of Stacey and his friends

  5. Looking for Truth Says:

    Mr. Beddard and all,

I understand that Clark Everett and Mac Manning have family connections, either directly or through marriage. I think Mr. Everett would really have to be pushed from a higher office in order to have him act on requesting any action concerning Mac. The attorney general’s office has been contacted, but, so far, no response.

LET’S ALL REMEMBER ALL OF THE INACTION IN THIS CASE (BOTH ON THE LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL) WHEN ELECTION DAY COMES AROUND AGAIN. IT COULD BE YOUR FAMILY NEXT TIME.

Available information indicates that both Mac and Michelle’s attorneys were biding their time, hoping for the statute of limitations to run out. Mac and Michelle were advised to just be quiet and everyone would soon forget about the case. David, please do not let this happen.

  6. Not from Pitt County Says:

I cannot believe a tramp like this woman is allowed to wear a NC Sheriff’s Office badge. And you don’t EVEN want to know what I think of the Sheriff who keeps her employed after seeing the video of her behavior on the WORLD WIDE WEB.

There are so many decent and honorable law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day. They live their lives in a way to honor the duty they are sworn to. This woman makes me sick to my stomach. Where is her ethical values?

If she would shame the “badge” in such a way, who’s to say she would’nt stand by and watch her husband drown, AFTER SHE PUSHED HIM??????

GOD HELP HER SOUL BECAUSE SHE IS HELL BOUND!!!!!

  7. Justice Says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there isnt a statute of limitations on murder.

  8. Looking for Truth Says:

In response to “Not from Pitt County,” the reason that this ‘woman’ is allowed to wear a NC Sheriff’s Office badge and the reason that Mac not only keeps her employed, but continues to promote her, is that our voices are not being heard in the community. We protest here on this site and other sites, but the word is not getting out to the people in the community. Television interviews are needed, as well as more newspaper coverage. Signs need to be posted on every surface that usually holds those annoying signs promoting people who are running for office, i.e. utility poles, old barns, people’s yards, public buildings, restaurants, etc. Many of our good, honest citizens do not review websites such as this one.

I know that Stacey’s family has placed posters in many places, and said they were welcomed by the proprietors, but the family needs some help getting the word out.

PLEASE ACT BEFORE THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS RUNS OUT IN THIS CASE.

Let’s put up our own signs asking people to review the website JUSTICE4STACEY.COM and decide what actions need to be taken.

  9. Murphy Says:

There is no statute of limitations for prosecuting murder but there IS for the civil case. With the civil case filed I don’t think there is a question of limitations any longer but I could be wrong.

I agree with Looking for Truth and I am going to try to push the word out at ECU. I have access to most of the public bulletin boards at ECU and will put the website name up there. Others should consider doing this at their local grocery stores and laundry mats etc. You can make a “poster” with the hanging slips of paper so people can tear them off to remember the website.

  10. Jane Says:

Online Petition to remove Michelle and Mac was created……. Go to …….

    http://www.petitiononline.com/slpgnc05/petition.html

  11. Lisa Says:

I totally agree with gettin out and spreading the information for the
citizens of pitt county by posters and word of mouth is always a good
    way around our community–
I also hope that all the supporters and family of Stacey can meet
Maybe at the Greenville Convention Center one day or nite and
let our local media know —maybe once that see all the supporters
in one place that will raise a few eyebrows and publicily at the same
time!! We have alot of supporters also that post comments
daily on the daily refector forum and here that would be glad to
help and support the B. pollard family and justice4stacey.. And
The Autopsy gettin reviewed is good and thngs are lookin up !!

  12. Jane Says:

Well it must be true that Mac or Michelle have some people in the Daily Reflector helping them stay out of the limelight because I was removed from the opinion board and so was another protestor for justice4stacey..
It’s just a shame that they continue to try and keep this under the rug, my opinion is if there is nothing to hide then why not let the citizen’s of Pitt County voice their opinions on their forum..???????????
I am now cancelling my subscription to the Daily Reflector, they will never get another dime from me and my family and friends are also cancelling…..so……poo on them as well….
Just remember if businesses in the Pitt County area will not let you put up signs and such, they are within the Manning/Michelle hush hush crowd, so beware!

  13. Brenda Says:

Lisa, I think that is a great idea….can you arrange for us ALL to meet. If so do it and let us all know. I have expressed this to the lawyer and I will head it up, but when this is all said and done and JUSTICE has prevailed we need to have a walk in Stacey memory and raise money for epilepsy foundation. We as a community need to be aware of the dangers and signs if any of this disease. Prayers are to the Pollard family and remember people Michelle son is only a child. He needs our prayers also!!!!

  14. Lisa Says:

Yes, Brenda i will be glad to get this together and a walkathon for epilepsy
foundation sounds great!! How about a candlelite ceremony and walkathon
combined on the evening of Stacey’s death? I would be glad to hold up my
candle for justice and the epilepsy foundation!! I also know that the pollard
family could really use the support and prayers then and now. I don’t beleive
that there has ever been a question from either side of this about the bond
that Stacey and his stepson shared. A mother lost her son ,sisters lost their best friend and a young man lost his mentor and stepfather. So yes the young man
is in my prayers also. Also please sign the online petetion that is available
for the supporters of justice for stacey and also pray for David Sutton
and his team! Just hold on B.pollard and family your prayers are being
    heard……

  15. Pitt County Citizen and Voter Says:

    Webmaster,

Please put the petition link at the top of the Justice4stacey page (http://www.petitiononline.com/slpgnc05/petition.html). Many people want to sign, but can’t find it. (Some don’t read all comments.)

    Thank you.

  16. Brenda Says:

Lisa, That is a wonderful idea about a candlelight service on the even of November 18. Tears fill my eyes thinking about this .

  17. Brenda Says:

Lisa I was unable to finish my comment about the candlelight service. We can get together and plan this and if you would work on the meeting at the convention center that would be wonderful. Just post it here on the website so everyone knows. David can put us together for planning the candlelight meeting. Thanks for your prayers and we will continue to pray for each other. David Thanks for all your hard work on this.

  18. Tammy Says:

Looking for Truth…….. Can we get someone to print us some signs and posters. I will gladly help put them up. Does anyone have connection with a billboard that we could get some attention with that? Let have a march, a meeting…something.

  19. Pitt County Needs an Honest Sheriff Says:

Has anyone contacted CNN, Fox News, Date Line etc about this case? Maybe they can get to the bottom of this cover-up since NO law enforcement, media or judicial system in Pitt County can find the truth.

Pitt County needs and honest Sheriff! Wakeup Pitt County, we haven’t had and honest Sheriff…in what…40+ yrs. Those of you who remember and/or worked for the 2 before Manning know what I’m talking about. It’s time for a change, time for honesty, time…time for Justice 4 Stacey!
