Why This Website was Created - The Intent, Accomplishments and the Continued Need
First, the family and friends of Stacey would like to extend their sincere thanks to all who have provided support and information to those who loved Stacey. The website has obviously been quiet for an extended time but will soon begin sharing and gathering information again.
Why the need for the website?
The reasons for the creation and operation of the website are many. As hoped, it has proven to be a useful and informative tool in gathering information related to Stacey’s death. The website was also generated in an effort to counter the July 10, 2007 televised press conference held by Sheriff Mac Manning. During this press conference, Sheriff Manning used his position and a public forum to falsely accuse Mrs. Barbara Pollard and/or associates of Mrs. Pollard of making or having someone else on their behalf make false accusations against Lt. Michelle Pollard. The truth of the matter is this particular press conference and the falderol spewed forth in it left the family of Stacey feeling sickened and even more disillusioned.
Can you imagine the pain of losing your son or brother and then:
- discovering his widow was participating in group sex the very night of his funeral
- hearing an admission to the family by Pitt County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Chief of Homicide Investigations that he had in fact had a sexual relationship with Lt. Pollard prior to the death of her husband
- learning the PCSO refused to call the SBI for investigative purposes the night of Stacey’s death while simultaneously disregarding the request to do so by their own investigator
- being forced to demand the PCSO step aside and allow an independent investigation by the SBI due to the inappropriate relationships between Lt. Pollard and PCSO Staff
- discovering that the sole surviving person supposedly at Stacey’s house immediately prior to his death had changed her account of her actions prior to Stacey’s death numerous times (once or twice immediately following a SBI administered polygraph examination that she failed)
- having to doggedly demand from all parties the Medical Examiner review the SBI investigative file in an effort to determine the cause and manner of Stacey’s death (this file and the conflicting accounts given by Lt. Pollard regarding her actions prior to Stacey’s death were not available to the Medical Examiner when the initial autopsy was performed)
- discovering the autopsy and manner of death were changed by the Medical Examiner upon review of the SBI investigative accounts
While the Pollard family has had to endure the events listed and many, many more, their quest has ALWAYS been to discover what REALLY happened to Stacey the night he died. It is the intent of Stacey’s family to perservere and NEVER let anyone or group deter them in their search for an accurate, consistent and TRUTHFUL account of the events that led to Stacey’s death.

The site is back up! Finally the corruption that is Mac Manning will be exposed.
It’s interesting. In the last election Mac actually called up a candidate running for office and offered to endorse him/her (my sister worked on the candidate’s campaign). Because of all the mess that has come about, the candidate said, “thanks but no thanks.”
Really says something about the political tide and how it’s turning in Pitt County.

Keep the updates coming and NEVER GIVE UP! I have seen people convicted to life in prison with less circumstantial evidence than exists in this case.
